HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2

Image
As I have posted below, July 25 was my birthday. But, due to complications, we didn't celebrate it until the 28. I planned it all out very carefully with GranAnnie. We would eat my almost-tradition pancake breakfast, eat out at the new French owned American restaurant, go to the beach, eat at Festival Des Glace, eat our ice cream cake there, then return home for a movie night watching 'Paddington' (I'll write a review of that later). We actually squeezed it all in!  My friend Benedicte, my sister, and I inside Burger & Pizza City.    When we arrived at Burger and Pizza City, the sign said closed. My dad went up and pounded on the door (as seen in the picture, ha ha ha) until a waitress came up and opened it. When he asked if they were open, she hastily replied that they opened at 10:00 a.m. Dad pointed out the fact that it was 12:00 p.m. Glancing past my dad, and seeing a van load of nine people, she asked if we would like to have breakfast.      We have some beautiful scenery where I live.  I love beaches, palm trees, flowers, waterfalls, everything.  Having recently visited a beach side hotel, I took lots of pictures of the plants and animals seen there. I also took some around my house. This is from the beach side hotel.   The tides from the beaches where I live are pretty strong compared to what I've experienced in the States. I have had many close calls in my life on these beaches! This is also from the beach side hotel.   I have also seen plenty of plants around here! Flowers, vines, bougainvillea, oh, so pretty.  If you pull the stem out of this flower, You can taste the nectar, like in the honeysuckle. I don't know what it's called. Cacti  Ouch! We even have cacti! (which, trust me, hurts when you touch it; I speak from experience!!) Palm tree Coconut tree And, of course, palm and coconut trees. The difference between the two is that palm trees only grow palm nuts,

Bonjour . The reason I created this blog is because I love to write. I love to write about daily occurrences, my thoughts, what I do with my friends, and basically everything that goes on in my life.   As a young girl growing up overseas, I have had lots of incidents that a lot of people will never deal with. For instance, we have two faucets in our kitchen sink. One is "dirty water"; the other is "clean water." People from the U.S. are a bit startled by this.  Recently my grandmother was visiting from the States for the first time; she was staying in a separate apartment for the night. I was getting ready for bed when it hit me. GranAnnie was going to use "dirty water" to brush her teeth. The last time I had attempted this, I had become violently ill during the night, and overcome by nausea. My little brother and I shot across the seminary campus we live on to the housing section and furiously banged on the door. GranAnnie was unpacking and reachi
