TCK Teens spending Time Together

Image
The group, with ugly I-just-woke-up-why-are-you-taking-my-picture-Mom faces.😎   I feel as if a lot of my posts begin with car trips. It seems that every time I get excited about one of my blogs, I have to start with a road trip. This was actually a pretty fun road trip, though. It was our second car adventure with Aunt Danna and Jackson, and they always spice up our lives😊  On this escapade, we were driving up country to see another MK that lives about seven to eight hours away from us. None of us had ever met him. All we knew was that we were going to a river, eating dinner at their house, and playing X-box Kinnect. This trip was mostly for the teens. We have our original trio of Tristan, Jackson, and myself, but our family had the pleasure of bringing along Yilin (or Lin) with us. Welcome to the group, Yilin! I hope our craziness didn't scare you. πŸ˜› After we sat in the car for 8 hours, we got pretty silly.   By the end of the car trip at about 7:0...

A Serio-Comedic Trailer - Made Entirely by MK's (just for fun)

MK's can be weird... and do weird things. The video below is no exception. The concept was entirely thought up by MK's, and must not be taken seriously. Please.  Be certain that behind every scene we were laughing ourselves silly and had a blast with every minute. But like I said, this is a complete joke. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it with a fellow missionary family. I am not going to write a witty ending to this post; the video must, and can, speak for itself. I will only say this: our family has some really morbid pastimes.

Koko's Trip to Kenya

Image
* Acknowledgment: Thank you, Uncle Wally, for helping me fix all of my technical errors on this blog! I told Mom, "You have a really SMART brother!" Welcome to my corner of Maryann's blog - allow me introduce myself. My name is Koko.  (This is me!)   I am on a trip with the missionary family to Kenya (trust me, they are a rowdy bunch at times!). I was referred to a specialist in Kenya and was told to see a psychiatrist. ...yippee...  The trip there was uneventful for the most part (except when Tristan thought he had left me on the plane halfway across the tarmac so that the whole family ground in reverse to fetch me!). But let me begin at the beginning.  The Crowe's, good friends of ours, drove us to the airport for our trip. They are great people! We even created a WhatsApp group so that all of us could keep in touch.   Going through security in the airport was a nightmare. Mostly for me. I had been placed in a party bag for the younges...

DAY 6: Games, the Prodigal Son, and Crackers (clogging secret revealed!)

Image
On day five, our coping mechanisms kicked in. Basically, this means that we nerded out over breakfast and said something along the lines of, "Oh, I wish that we x, then we could do x, " and so on. And for those of you who really want to know, we translated as many elf names from the Lord of the Rings trilogy that we could remember, without the Silmarillion in front of us. In my defense, I am not as nerdy as my dad. Yet. :)   (the above picture is of Tristan and the winner of a game that had over 17 rounds)   With the women Mom did something different. Because we were still (ARE still) working on their project, M. Samuel did all the teaching. Since he is an evangelist, he taught them basic evangelism. The women were very receptive. I was really embarrassed, though, because M. Samuel had asked me to hastily draw some pictures on a piece of paper for him, to help illustrate. After I was finished I felt as if I could have done better, but M. Samuel seemed very pl...
